From what must have been a lavish group of shaped pieces, including bough pots sold Christie's New York, 20 January 1995, lots 57 and 58, and other garniture vases illustrated by de Castro, op. cit., p. 167, made for the Canons of St. Augustine at this Convent, founded by King Alfonso I and then outside the Moorish city walls.
