A PAIR OF WORCESTER PALE YELLOW-GROUND RETICULATED TWO-HANDLED BASKETS
Circa 1768
Each with slightly everted pierced sides, the branch handles secured with encrusted flower terminals, the interior finely painted on the bottom with a loose bouquet and along the scalloped rim with similar flowers, the pale yellow exterior with green-centered pink flowerheads at the intersections of the basket staves, gilt line rim

Lot Essay

Although the terminal flowers vary slightly, the present baskets should be considered a pair as all other decoration is virtually identical and by the same hand.
