The engraved steel dial signed 'Manticha fecit' beneath a thermometer, the shaped banjo-form case inlaid with paterae and with chequered edge overall, inscribed in pencil on the reverse 'A.M....' and 'No. 15/4,' with printed paper label 'J.SOMALVILO & CO./MAKERS LONDON/18 CHARLES ST. HATTON GARDENS' and inscribed in ink 'Repaired 8/8/94' and with incised number '3122/1'
