A carved and gilt composition girandole, 19th century
in the Louis XVI taste, the oval mirror within a guilloche moulded surround, with an acanthus, oak leaf and acorn cresting and two pairs of scrolled foliate candle branches issuing from leafy brackets and with a shaped shelf below, with a cabochon and strap-work border supported by a foliate apron, losses and old damage -- 44in. (112cm.) high, 43in. (109cm.) wide
