A giltwood console table, 19th century
the later moulded rectangular green and white marble top above a pierced frieze centred by a confronting C-scroll enclosing a palmette, flanked by foliate scrolls and a flower-headed trellis, the sides conformingly decorated, on waisted and foliate wrapped square tapering legs centred by a shell and above a husk-filled panel, and joined by a scrolling and gadrooned stretcher centred by a foliate finial, on foliate wrapped feet, the underside stamped '17038' and with paper label inscribed in ink '17038', possibly adapted from a centre table -- 53in. (135cm.) wide
