maker's mark of Carl Faberg, Moscow, 1908-1917
Formed as the figure of Ivan Tsarevich and the Firebird, the base cast and chased to simulate rockwork, the silver-mounted glass inkwell with detachable fruit and foliage cover, with the figure of the knight in traditional costume to the right and with the figure of the Firebird, standing on an apple branch to the left, the base later engraved with with Russian presentation inscription, marked on side, the cover unmarked and scratched with inventory number 20191
