Dick Grace's Cabernet Sauvignon needs no introduction. It is one of the most avidly collected wines in the world. Through two ventures, Dick has shared his budwood, the original Bosche clone, with Bob Hartwell, of Hartwell Vineyards, and Teresa Norton and Tom Paine, of Vineyard 29. Like the 2-acre Grace vineyard, these properties are tiny--Hartwell Vineyards is 1 acre in Stag's Leap and Vineyard 29 is 3-1/2 acres just 100 meters from Dick's vineyard. The Hartwell and Vineyard 29 wines in these lots were all made at Grace Family Vineyards winery by noted winemaker Heidi Peterson Barrett.
