A German fayence pewter-mounted tankard
painted in blue with a stylised foliate ground, the hinged cover with ball thumbpiece and incised NO 14 .F.G.S. and dated 1785, the foot applied with pewter ring (some chips and marks) -- 23cm. high; and a Westerwald stoneware pewter-mounted tankard incised with a field of circles, the hinged cover incised Z8 and JDS (cracks to base and cover) -- 24cm. high, 18th century
