The Flagellation of Christ; and Christ on the Road to Calvary

The present pair of panels are stylistically close to the retable of Saint Sebastian, attributed by Post to the School of Jacomart, which was formerly in the rectory of Albal, near Valencia, and then documented as being in the Mateu Collection, Barcelona (C.R. Post, A History of Spanish Painting, 1935, VI, part I, pp. 112-5, fig. 41).
