The sitter's daughter, Sophie Charlotte (1678-1749), married Friedrich Wilhelm, Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1675-1713) in 1704. The tentative identification of the sitter has been suggested by Ludwig Meyer, on the basis of comparison with the bronze buste by Gabriel Grupello, 1697, in the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen, Kassel.
