En suite with the preceding lot, each with slightly curved tablet toprail inlaid with a lozenge, above a pierced tapering splat, the padded seat covered in pink material decorated with laurel wreaths, on square sabre legs, restorations (11)

Lot Essay

This elegant chair, with it's pierced tapering back consisiting of stylised feathers, is closely related to a South German walnut example of circa 1820, which is illustrated in G. Himmelheber, Biedermeiermöbel, München, 1987, Tafel 5.
