Of baluster form, the moulded spreading base, lobed body and lid decorated with three foliate panels, the sides fluted into six panels rising to a knobbed stem, with scroll handle and thumbpiece; the stand of shaped oval form, lobed and decorated with scrolling foliage, applied with two foliate moulded rings for each chalice and engraved on the back Gestiftet von der Gräfin Henriette von Lalaing, geborne Gräfin von Maldeghem den 26ten Juni 1846 and a crest, in a fitted case lined with red cotton; and a watercolour depicting Marie Henriette Comtesse de Lalaing, née Comtesse de Maldeghem, the donor of the chalices - 27.5 x 33.5cm.
