A DUTCH GILT METAL MOUNTED-WALNUT AND MARQUETRY BREAKFRONT COMMODE
Third quarter 18th Century
Crossbanded overall in sycamore, the moulded and shaped hinged rectangular top centered by a cartouche depicting a naive woodland hunting scene, above two simulated and one long baize-lined drawer, each with musical trophies and trellis parquetry, flanked by pilasters, the sides with floral posies above a shaped apron, on square tapering feet, previously fitted with a music system, the middle drawer with removable drawer-front, with paper depository label to the reverse '222841 BROWN & CO (CHESTER) LIMITED', the reverse with later pierced hinged sound panels, lacking caps and some mouldings, the music-system removed
