The rectangular plate within a pierced scrolling and foliate-wrapped frame with cresting, within vertical panels applied with foliate reserves to either side, the lower part centred by a C-scrolled cartouche surmounted by a floral spray, redecorated

A very similar mtier broder with tambour shutters to the sides in a private collection is illustrated in N. de Reynis, Le mobilier domestique, Paris, 1987, vol. II, p. 927, fig. 3546, whilst another features in a print by de Launay of 1778 after a painting by Lawrence (Reynis, op. cit., p. 926, fig. 3545).
