The Hon. Mrs Ernest Guinness (+) removed from Holmbury House, Dorking, Surrey; Phillips house sale, May 11 1954, lot 32, ('A mahogany oblong table of Chippendale design, with pierced gallery, on triple cluster column supports, united by stretchers'). Bought for the Hall at Hans Crescent.

Lot Essay

A related silver table with imbricated panels and cluster cross-stretchers was sold from Callaly Castle, Northumberland, Christie's house sale, 22-24 September 1986, lot 111.
Another with similar legs and stretcher, but with ebonised instead of imbricated panels, by repute from the Percival Griffiths Collection, was sold by the late Marion Johnson Wise, Sotheby's New York, 19 Octoer 1991, lot 339.
