A LATE VICTORIAN SATINWOOD AND POLYCHROME PAINTED COLLECTOR'S CABINET-ON-STAND
Crossbanded in kingwood and decorated overall in blues greens and reds with acanthus sprays, flowers, birds and putti the glazed hinged rectangular top enclosing a green velvet-lined interior above a simulated drawer with latin inscription "NUNC AUT NUNQUAM" flanking a shield, and three graduated drawers on a moulded plinth, and ring-turned tapering legs, joined by a concave sided stretcher decorated with acanthus leaves, restorations to the stretcher, the silvered handles stamped indistinctly 'WM' and a lion 'SF' and a sheild, the locks stamped 'C&T LONDON', possibly originally a canteen
