A BEJEWELED KINGFISHER FEATHER-EMBELLISHED HEADDRESS, CHAO GUAN

The cap formed by black silk-covered wire and black silk mesh decorated with delicate spring-mounted motifs inlaid with kingfisher feathers, the front with a row of five gilt-metal phoenix inlaid with large pink tourmaline cabochons, pearl, coral and turquoise tassels suspended from their beaks above two dragons confronted on a flaming pearl, the top with a large bat enclosing a shou character above a flower-filled basket, with two butterflies hovering amidst the spreading foliage, all enhanced by pearls and further pink tourmaline
