YONGZHENG SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD

Thin green glazes of this tone are sometimes referred to as melon or apple green. A more usual color to find on a bowl of this shape is the pale lavender blue of the glaze on a pair of similarly shaped, but slightly smaller, bowls in the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities, Stockholm, illustrated by Wirgin, 'Chinese Ceramics from the Axel and Nora Lundgren Bequest', B.M.F.E.A., No. 50, 1978, pl. 57a, no. 75.
