late edo-meiji periods (late 19th century), the first sealed koku, the second signed tomin, the third signed nagamitsu to and sealed kansetsu
The first bone, of otoshizutsu type, carved with a stylized winged dragon, the upper section with stylized scrolling foliage forming a himotoshi; the second of tortoise shell, of aikuchizutsu type, with ivory hilt-cap, finely carved with Benten riding a dragon, the face and hands inlaid in ivory, fitted with a metal rim and a ring himotoshi; the third of ivory musozutsu type, inlaid in finely carved shell with swimming and leaping carp (3)
