COMPARATIVE LITERATURE:
J. Montagu, Antonio and Gioseppe Giorgetti: Sculptors to Cardinal Grancesco Barberini, Art Bulletin, LII, 1970, p. 297, fig. 3
J. Montagu, Alessandro Algardi, New Haven and London, 1985, II, pp. 309, 342

Anotonio Giorgetti, whose father was a woodcarver, has been convincingly identified by Montagu (1970, loc. cit.) as the author of this composition, a gilt-bronze example of which is signed - or inscribed - Il Beorgetti on the reverse. Examples of the relief, paired respectively with Algardi's reliefs of the Flight into Egypt and Piet, are recorded by Montagu (1985, loc. cit.).
