A PAIR OF ITALIAN BAROQUE GILTWOOD THRONE ARMCHAIRS
First half 18th century
Each with an exuberant foliate-carved crestrail centering a caroutche covered with a cross and inscribed PAX above a shaped padded back and cushion covered in crimson and silvered floral cut-velvet flanked by downscrolled armrests over a similarly-carved seatrail, on flower-headed molded cabriole legs and scrolled toes, regilt, one chair with ink inscription ace e (2)
