A Chinese export gold lacquer octagonal tea caddy
with detailed decoration of numerous figures and attendants at various pursuits seated at tables, in pavilions and on terraces in formal garden landscapes within cartouche shaped panels surrounded by dragons amongst cloud scrolls, flowers and scrolling foliage in broad bands, the domed and hinged cover opening to reveal two fitted pewter liners and covers with incised decoration, brass drop carrying handles -- 11in. (29.8cm) wide, 19th Century, (feet removed, minor rubbing and chips).
