A pair of large Chinese pale celadon glazed baluster vases
with widely flaring rims and moulded guei dragon handles, decorated in white slip and carved in shallow relief with confronting dragons chasing flaming pearls amongst cloud scrolls and above foaming waves -- 35in. (88.9cm.) high, 19th Century, (chips to extremities of guei dragons), each with an accompanying hardwood stand pierced and carved with stylised flowers and foliage.See Colour Plate 7. (2)
