Tasting note from the Overton tasting May 1979: Fairly light, a lovely orange-amber shade; an incredibly delicate, fragrant ethereal bouquet, faint at first but which opened up and developed a rich, almost meaty, ripe mulberry aroma (it vividly reminded me of the only other 1825 I have tasted, the Gruaud-Larose); flavour to match with a touch of piquancy. But the true Lafite style and character. 19/20
