A LOUIS XVI ORMOLU-MOUNTED TULIPWOOD, FRUITWOOD AND MARQUETRY CHIFFONNIERE

Banded overall with harewood, the three-quarter pierced galleried oval top inlaid with foliate jardinire issuing floral branches above a drawer concealing a gilt-tooled green leather-lined writing-surface and encrier with a further drawer flanked by ribbon-tied berried foliate mounts and recessed panels, on square tapering legs joined by an undertier with conforming three-quarter galleried top and a drawer, the legs terminating in sabots, partly re-mounted, the escutcheon to the top drawer missing, restorations to the marquetry of the top, stamped once 'N. PETIT' and 'JME', the underside of the lower section with remains of label stencilled in black ink 'The proper... Isabella de ?af.. ...cclo...'
