The foliate engraved shouldered rectangular case with loop handle, with swivel strut to the base and curved easel support to the rear, the engraved and silvered dial with plain Roman chapter ring and oval reserve below with retail signature C.F.HANDCOCK LONDON (sic), blued steel fleur-de-lys hands, the rear of the case inscribed with the number NO.821 and C.F. HANCOCK By appointment to the PRINCIPAL SOVEREIGNS & COURTS OF EUROPE 39 Bruton St. LONDON, case stamped 821 to underside, with circular shuttered aperture to escapement and hand-set, keyless wind, single barrel movement with vertically positioned uncompensated lever balance
