The foliate cut-brass inlaid case of waisted form and surmounted by the figure of an angel (section of pediment lacking), on feet cast with leafy scrolls and terminating in female busts, the glazed front door centred by a relief cast mount of a peasant youth with instrument, glazed side panels now lacking, the gilt-bronze dial plate mounted with individual white enamel Roman and Arabic chapters (numeral 20 lacking), signed in the enamel centre CALON A PARIS, the twin train movement with verge escapement and silk suspension, with countwheel strike on bell above (lacking hammer); case with losses and restorations to veneers
