The case in the form of a windmill with revolving sails (one damaged), with thermometers to the sides (mercury tube lacking, register rubbed), the front mounted aneroid barometer dial above time dial, both with silvered rings and gilt centres, single barrel timepiece movement with lever escapement, a door to the base opening to reveal the square for indirect wind to the revolving sails, on black marble plinth
