The breakarch case with stepped pediment surmounted by a brass figure of Mercury, with cherubic caryatid mounts to the angles and cast sound frets to the sides, with brass plaque to the front and presentation inscription dated 1922, on scroll feet, the brass dial with silvered chapter ring with retail signature BENJ.N HARRAL BARNSLEY, with matted centre and floral spandrels, with subsidiary rings to the arch for slow/fast and chimes on eight bells/four gongs, the triple chain fusee movement with anchor escapement and cimes on four gongs or eight bells, with hour strike on further gong, the backplate stamped for Winterhalder and Hofmeier and numbered 2170
