The rectangular case with arched glazed and moulded bracket base, the circular back-painted glass dial signed ARNAULT-TAILLEBOT HORLOGER ELECTRICIEN BRIOUDE with blued steel moon hands and regulation square at XII, the movement with rectangular plates with four back-pinned pillars, deadbeat escapement with steel pallets, the backplate mounted with Garnier's snail-cam contact system and the backplate itself stamped PAUL GARNIER PARIS within an oval reserve and numbered 25385/38.8

Lot Essay

On the back of this movement there is a switch patented by Victor Reclus for accurate distribution time to slaves. The bell push may have been a mechanism for accelerating the slaves or a method of sending a time check signal.
