The hood with brass ball and spire finials to the breakarch top, glazed side panels and chamfered front angles with later gilt-bronze foliate mounts, with arch top trunk door and panelled plinth raised on bracket feet, the 10in. gilt-brass dial with associated cherub and coronet spandrels to the silvered chapter ring signed Jno. Weller London, matted centre with ringed winding holes, subsidiary silvered seconds ring and date aperture, later hands, dial dented to one corner, with later arch applied with a silvered disc engraved with a ho-ho bird, the four pillar movement with anchor escapement and inside countwheel strike on bell, backplate now with spotted finish and extraneous hole for missing pillar; associated, dial and movement first quarter 18th century, case second half 18th century
