A CHASUBLE OF "CLOTH OF GOLD" MOIR
1870s-1880s, probably French
The orphreys brocaded in coloured silks with fruiting vines, stylised rose sprigs and other stylised flowers against a gilt metal ground, the centre of the back with an appliqu Lamb of God in silver metal purl surrounded by a halo, with matching veil, bourse and stole;
a black damask chasuble, 1880s/1890s, French, woven with an abstract design, the orphrey panels of black velvet, the centre back embroidered and appliqu in gilt metal threads with 'JHS', with matching veil;
and a similar stole and bourse
