A BRUSSELS ALLEGORICAL TAPESTRY
Late 17th Century
Woven in wools, silks and metal-thread, depicting the Fruits of War with two florally wreathed putti to the centre holding a plumed helmet, seated on richly decorated shields and further military trophies, including rich fabrics, to each side with further putti supporting a tassled canopy and with a lappeted frieze above and below, within a blue outer slip, minor reweaving and patching
