Made by Frederick Parker and Sons, circa 1950, of George II style
The shaped and eared tapering splat flanked by shepherd's crook arms, above a circular drop-in seat covered in leather, on cabriole legs headed by scallop shells and husks, on claw and ball feet, with label 'PATT 2321', stamped '63146','03146' and '04146' respectively (4)

Lot Essay

This model of chair was made by Gillows of London and Lancaster in the early 19th Century. An almost identical burr-yew armchair, stamped 'GILLOWS, LANCASTER', was sold anonymously, Christie's New York, 22 April 1989, lot 69.
