The semi-circular top inlaid with a fan, above a frieze drawer and a central arched recess with four scalloped spandrels, flanked on the left by two drawers and on the right by a deep cellaret-drawer with a simulated two-drawer front, on square tapering legs headed by marquetry, on later spade feet, the shape of the arch altered

Lot Essay

A related pattern for a sideboard, with hermed legs decorated with husk-festoons and arch-spandrels decorated with scallop-rays, was published in Messrs. A. Hepplewhite and Co.'s The Cabinet-Maker and Upholsterer's Guide, 1788, pl. 24.
