The bowfront rectangular top with reeded edge and three-quarter gallery, above a door flanked by rectangular panels, on ring-turned tapering reeded legs and tapering feet

Lot Essay

Five pairs of related pot-cupboards, with fine feathered mahogany, were supplied in 1812 for Tatton Park, Cheshire, by Gillows of London and Lancaster (see N. Goodison and J. Hardy, 'Gillows at Tatton Park', Furniture History, 1970, pl. 12B).
A closely related pot-cupboard, supplied by Gillows to William Powlett, 2nd Baron Bolton in 1813 for Hackwood Park, Hampshire, was sold from there, Christie's house sale, 20 April 1998, lot 385.
