The moulded circular top above a frieze drawer and five simulated frieze drawers, on a reeded flared shaft, with lotus-leaf baluster, on a concave-sided tripartite base, bun feet, the underside with 20th Century custom's stencil in black 'MADE IN ENGLAND', and inscribed in pencil 'Mrs Gameet', restorations to plinth
27 in. (70 cm.) high; 23 in. (58.5 cm.) diam.

Lot Essay

The table, with its elegant reed and palm-wrapped pillar, in the manner of Roman candelabra, reflects the antique style promoted by George Smith's The Cabinet-maker and Upholsterer's Guide, 1826.
