A finely engineered working scale model of a De Havilland Gypsy 4-cylinder erect aeroplane engine
built by L. Chenery with finely finned cylinders, overhead pushrod operated valve gear, crankcase filler and breather, gear driven 'magneto' and distributor, oil pump and external pipework, laminated propellor fixed between bolted plates, the engine mounted in a framework as in an aeroplane with 'firewall', fuel tank, coil, condensor, on/off switch, mixture and throttle controls, finished in grey and polished brightwork -- 10 x 15in. (25.4 x 39.4cm.)
