The lobed circular top with eight moulded circular recesses separated by spandrels each containing a five-petalled flower, supported by a rotating base with a shaped pierced frieze and curved feet

Lot Essay

An extremely similar lazy susan, which was sold anonymously, in these Rooms, 21 April 1994, lot 14, and which differed from the present piece only in the design of the spandrels, carried the label of William Harrison Jr. The Dictionary of English Furniture Makers, Leeds, 1986, p. 405, lists nine William Harrisons working in the second quarter of the 19th Century. Other lazy susans of this model were sold anonymously, in these Rooms, 6 April 1995, lot 9, 6 June 1996, lot 8 and 25 September 1997, lot 201.
