in the William & Mary taste, crossbanded and feather-banded, with seaweed marquetry cartouches, the leather-lined writing surface surrounded by a gallery with an arrangement of drawers, hinged compartments and secret drawers modelled as Ionic columns, the frieze fitted with four drawers on eight spiral-turned supports and flattened shaped stretchers with turned feet, minor losses -- 55in. (140cm.) wide
