With nickel-finished jewelled lever movement, mono-metallic balance, all revealed under a crystal, the silvered matte dial with applied arabic and dot numerals, three subsidiary dials indicating constant seconds, 30 minute and 12 hour registers, windows for day and date, outer calibrated date ring with central hand, the stainless steel case with gold bezel two round chronograph buttons in the coin-edge band, downturned lugs, together with an 18K gold Breitling buckle, accompanied with a Breitling wooden presentation box and booklet, case, dial and movement signed.

Lot Essay

The Montbrillant 88 is a limited edition model with only 30 pieces being produced. According to the manufacturer the movement was produced in 1940, however due to the war the movement was put in storage and not cased until the early '90's. The present watch was purchased in August of 1994.
