Lot Essay

The vogue for Egyptianesque designs caused by Howard Carters excavation of Tutankhamen's tomb continued in the 1930's. Carltonware produced a range printed and enamelled with designs from the tomb and also created new designs with bell flowers and fan motif's inspired by the newly exposed treasures.
