With mahogany planked decking, with hatch, ventilator, exhaust stacks, aft cockpit with seats and cushions, helm, engine, instruments and controls, cleats, and other details, the hull with single shaft, thee blade propellor and rudder, finished in blue with 'gold' boot top, white and varnish, mounted on two turned brass columns, inlaid display base with legend, with brass bound glazed cover and mahogany stand

Lot Essay

Dixie II won the Harmsworth Trophy in 1908. She was built at the yard of B. Frank Wood, planked in mahogany, main framing was of Rock Elm. The engine was designed by Henry Crane, of 2,477 cc and capable of 45 miles per hour.
