A rare 19th-Century lacquered-brass air-flow meter,
signed on one of two cross bars Biram's Patent Anemometer Davis Derby No. 63, the suspension point with swing handle and enclosed dial mechanism, the two dials engraved 1-10, one dial clockwise, the other anti-clockwise, one labelled CS, the other XS, the twelve-blade fan driving via spiral and pinion gear, the vertical shaft running from the axis of the fan to the dial casing, with protective outer rings -- 6.3/8in. (16.2cm.) diameter, overall height 9in. (223cm.)
