The jug of typical form, the silver-gilt neck mount engraved with arabesques and strapwork, the hinge-box engraved with checkerboard, the foot chased with a guilloche and fastened by stiff leaves, the domed cover chased with masks and fruit within strapwork, surmounted by a turned thumbpiece and with a mermaid finial, fully marked on cover, neck, and foot
