On cylindrical foot,the white interior with four bands of elegant thuluth alternating with drop-shaped panels around a central blue roundel of waterweed motifs, a black band of reserved naskh around the rim, the exterior with vertical waterweed motifs, light golden iridescence, intact

Lot Essay

The four radiating inscriptions form an Arabic quatrain attributed to 'Ali. The reserved inscriptions around the rim are two Persian quatrains ending with the date "in rajab, the year six hundred and twelve of the hijra".
