FIRST EDITION of one of the earliest eye-witness accounts, by a European, of the Caspian region. Hanway, a partner in an English firm operating out of St.Petersburg, was engaged in trade with Persia. He supplemented his own observations with extensive use of De Clairac's history of Persia. (4)
