FIRST EDITION. Sir William accompanied his brother, Sir Gore Ouseley, as private secretary, on his mission to Persia. They left in July 1810 and were away for three years. The best known account is by J. Morier (see lot 229). The outward journey included a stop in Brazil, and the plates include a double-page view of the British ambassador's residence in Rio.
