FIRST EDITION. Ella Sykes accompanied her brother Percy, a member of the British Frontier Commission, who was to open the first British Consulate in Kerman. As she says in the preface the book is "the record of a very happy period of my existence, which I have, in a way, re-lived by writing about it ... As I believe I am the first European woman who has visited Kerman and Persian Baluchistan, my experieneces may perhaps interest other women who feel the 'Wanderlust' but are unable to gratify thier longing for adventure".
