It is unusual to find a Qur'an section of this period and from the Maghrib which is written on paper, rather than on vellum. Andalusia and North Africa continued to use vellum for Qur'ans in preference to paper where the rest of the Islamic world was producing and using paper for all manuscripts by this time.
